What wants to be created through you?

One day, in August of 2009, I found myself with too much time on my hands.  A major relationship had just ended, and I felt the need to do something creative, so I wouldn’t wallow in self-pity or depressing thoughts. The idea came to me to try painting.  Me?  Paint?  I laughed to myself, because I hadn’t stood in front of a canvas since 8th grade (where I had a major crush on my art teacher!), and have never taken an art class, but still, something was nudging me…

One trip to the craft store yielded some canvasses and acrylic paints…which turned into 40 paintings in 4 months.  It surprised me more than anyone, because I can’t even draw a decent stick figure!  I had an art show in Nov. ’09, sold some paintings, and agreed to do some customized work as well.  Now I paint less, but do it when I am inspired.
